Our thanks to Helen Toliver for her generous donation to ReadUP in honour of Francis, her building superintendent. Helen was the first person ever to volunteer for ReadUP, in 2005, and she has been an ardent supporter ever since. Thanks for your thoughtfulness, Helen.

A BIG thank you to Quinn who collected donations at his birthday party. Half of the funds were directed to ReadUP, while the other half went to a new scooter for Quinn. It just goes to show that a philanthropic life can start early. Happy 8th Quinn!

A generous donation has been made to ReadUP by the Kenny/McDonald family to mark the recent passing of Henry King, a gentle giant and photographer extraordinaire.

Henry was a friend to ReadUP at its inception in 2005, using his remarkable photography skills to document the program. His kindness and joie de vivre were beyond compare.

A generous donation to ReadUP has been made by the Kenny/McDonald family to celebrate the marriage of Denise McCulloch and Stuart Jones.

We are grateful for the support, and wish Denise & Stuart an abundance of love, laughter and harmony in their married life.

For the second year in a row, the Kiwanis Club of Riverdale has kindly donated funds to the ReadUP club at Eastview Neighbourhood Community Centre. We thank you for your generosity. You are truly abiding by the Kiwanis mission of “Serving the Children of the World.”

We are delighted to receive funding from Alterna Savings as part of their Community Grants program, which assists organizations that provide support in the focus area of Learning and Education. Thank you for supporting ReadUP.

Our sincere thanks to the Kenny family for choosing to direct donations to ReadUP, in lieu of flowers, at the loss of their beloved father and grandfather. To the many people who donated in Robert’s memory, thank you. You have made a real difference in children’s lives.

A big thank you and happy birthday to 6-year-old ReadUP participant Meseret Gilbert (and her mom, Valerie), for donating money raised at her birthday party to ReadUP. We appreciate your generous and thoughtful gift and we look forward to buying some new books for our clubs with your donation.

Many thanks to volunteer Sueanne Pham and her team of friends who held a car wash to raise funds for ReadUP. Thanks also to Loblaws at Leslie and Lakeshore for providing the space. It was a lovely surprise to hear of Sueanne’s plan to initiate and organize this event, and the proceeds have been extremely useful in expanding our book collection.
